The need to support small business now, more than ever, has jumped to the forefront of our minds these past few weeks. In April, the small business loan program ran out of funds in its first two weeks. Now in May, Amazon, Target, and Whole Foods employees nation wide are striking for better protection and pay. So instead of shopping conveniently, we’re shopping consciously to support small businesses and encourage ethical business practices.

If you’re wanting to do the same, check out these online shops below.

01. VERISHOP

Great for: Clothing & Accessories

What’s to love: Verishop has curated clothing from some of the coolest up and coming brands all over the internet. Although their assortment is large, they make shopping consciously easy with their “shop by cause” filter where you can select items that are sustainable, ethical, fair trade, and more. There’s also free 2 day shipping and free returns (no membership needed) - Amazon, they’re coming for you!

What we’re shopping for: Comfy sweats for lounging around in, activewear for our at home workouts, and easy dresses to wear now and later.

02. CREDO BEAUTY

Great for: Non toxic skincare and makeup

What’s to love: Credo has their own standard of what clean beauty means. One that is higher than current regulations. Not only do they consider the source and safety of all ingredients in a products, but the ethics and sustainability behind each brand’s production methods, supply chains, and shipping. They carry most of our favorite beauty brands like Kosas and RMS, as well as brands we’ve never even heard of!

What we’re shopping for: Wellness powders, face masks, and makeup essentials for “no makeup” days.

02. THE CITIZENRY

Great for: Home Decor

What’s to love: Citizenry works with artisans from across the globe to create beautiful, fair trade pieces for our homes. Nothing is massed produced, everything is small batch and hand made. Which means you get something unique for you home, while supporting artists and their local communities.

What we’re shopping for: Pillows, blankets, and bedding to cozy up our homes. And decor to spruce up our offices.

Foot note: There’s always Etsy too, but we excluded them from this list since we all know and love Etsy!
