3 Sustainable Swimwear Brands to Make A Splash In

Aloha! Kim here, I just got back from beautiful Kauai - an island so lush, green, and awe inspiring it made me fall even more in love with nature (which, I didn't know was possible!). I'll be sharing a full travel guide next week, but fashion things first, here's a swimsuit guide from my vacation. These swim brands use eco-friendly fabrics and ethical production practices so you can feel good about your next swimsuit purchase.

From two pieces to coverups, here are the three brands I've tried and recommend for looking stylish while being sustainable!

Peony Swimwear is relatively new to the scene and already taking the Insta world by storm! They are a small, family owned company based in Australia that mix luxury designs with materials made from recycled fishing nets and nylon waste. I personally love how their swimsuits have that Amalfi Coast vibe, if you know what I mean.

Vitamin A Swim really goes the distance to do good. They have quite a few different types of textiles, made from recycled materials and/or organic plants. Both their fabrics and swimsuits are manufactured in California to cut down on carbon emissions and to ensure an ethical work environment. If that wasn't enough, they also donate a portion of their sales to organizations like Oceana and Girls Inc. This is seriously one brand that I have ZERO regrets giving my money to!

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Summersalt is a sustainable brand. I'm wearing their coverup above, but I bought a one-piece swimsuit from them a year ago and immediately fell in love with the way it accentuated my waist. It's pretty much the only swimsuit I feel comfortable wearing around parents and older crowds (you know, I don't want to shock them too much by wearing a cheeky bikini!). Like the brands mentioned above, their swimsuits are made from fabrics crafted out of recycled waste. And you've got to love their body positivity!
