I’ve been curious about shampoo bars ever since I was exposed to the amount of single use plastics and waste in my life. So when Spring & Vine asked if I wanted to try their clean, vegan, and cruelty free shampoo bars, my answer was an immediate yes!

There’s a lot to love about their shampoo bars:

01. Made with clean, easy to understand ingredients. You’ll see natural ingredients like shea butter and essential oils in these bars. You won’t see any harmful ingredients like sulfates, silicones, parabens, dyes, and synthetic fragrances.

02. They’re low waste. Each shampoo bar comes in a recyclable paper box and only have a thin plastic wrap to keep them fresh. This helps reduce plastic use by up to 95% less than a traditional plastic bottle of shampoo!

03. Available in different varieties to meet your hair needs. There are 4 different shampoo bars in their product line. Volumizing Grapefruit & Rosemary for extra body and fullness. Moisturizing Oatmeal for a 2 in 1 cleanse and condition. Soothing Tea Tree & Mint to soothe the scalp. And Balanced Clean Lavender & Orange for that lightly cleanses hair and leaves a calming scent. All 4 bars have a concentrated formula that lasts as long as a 12oz shampoo bottle.

04. Affordable and accessible. Clean, safe, and sustainable beauty swaps can either be pricey or just plain hard to find. Spring & Vine shampoo bars are available at Target for under $10 each. Making responsible shopping easy for once!

Despite all the amazing benefits of shampoo bars, I questioned if it would work on my hair. It’s thick, it’s frizzy, it’s curly, it’s a lot to handle!

And the answer is… yes! I used the Moisturizing Oatmeal 2 in 1 bar to wash my hair, and my curls look great. Don’t ya think?

There are a few tricks to washing curly hair with a shampoo bar. First, rub the bar between your hands to create a lather. Don’t rub it directly on your scalp. Second, massage into your scalp and roots only to wash away dirt and oil without drying out your hair. Rinse well and style as you normally would.

I hope this clears away any hesitations or doubts you might have about using a shampoo bar, it certainly did for me! If you’re ready to make the switch, keep scrolling to shop Spring & Vine at Target.
