Building a French Wardrobe with Sezane

KatandKim_BrandReview_Sezane.jpg

Ahhh, French girl style - how we love you so. What is it exactly that draws us to dressing like French women? I mean we don't exactly look like the French girl archetype, but then again, most actual French women don't either! To us French style is more about looking effortless, yet meticulous at the same time. It's outfits that are understated, yet anything but boring. It's a focus on wearable pieces that will still be relevant years down the road.

Sezane is the very epitome of this in our minds! We both have quite a few pieces from their fall and winter collections that have gotten so much wear the past 4 months. Ahead we're sharing our most loved Sezane pieces and our honest reviews on each!

BARTOLOME SWEATER
Sizing: True to size, we're both wearing a small.
Material: A mohair and wool mix. It feels so soft on the skin, but it does shed a good amount.
Sustainability: These sweaters are made in an audited factory in China to ensure it meets Sezane's code of ethics in addition to other industry standards.
Why we love it: You know a sweater is real cute when we both want it! The mix of colors makes this the perfect subtle statment to dress up a pair of jeans. Not to mention it is one of their thickest and warmest sweaters for winter.

ILANA DRESS
Sizing: This dress has a bit of an oversized fit. You could definitely go down a size if you want it to look more fitted. Kim is wearing a size 4.
Material: Silk. It feels so so so soft! But on the downside it wrinkles as soon as you take a breath in it.
Sustainability: Made in an audited factory in China, fabric is oeko-tex certified.
Why Kim loves it: I have been so into clothing items that can be worn out on the town or on the couch! This dress is so comfortable worn as a night gown or around the house. But add on some gold jewelry and a red lip and you've got yourself a sexy little dress to wear to dinner too!

FILOMENE BLOUSE

Material: A mix of synthetic and natural fibers.
Sustainability: Made in an audited factory in the EU (Portugal).
Why Kathleen loves it: The bright pink color and gold sheen make this a cute statement blouse.

ANNA SHIRT
Sizing: True to size, Kim is wearing a 4.
Material: Silk, although it's not quite as soft and it doesn't have that shine to it that you'd usually associate with silk.
Sustainablility: Made in an audited factory in China with 50% or more recycled materials.
Why Kim loves it: A white silk shirt is a closet staple I've been on the hunt for all season long! This one has pretty lace details and a high collar that give it a little something extra.

CLOTHILDE BLOUSE
Sizing: True to size, Kathleen wears a 4.
Material: Cotton.
Sustainability: Made of natural and organic material. Manufactured at an audited factory in India.
Why Kathleen loves it: This blouse can be worn multiple ways - either with the buttons in the front or the back! The dark florals are such a cute moody print for fall and winter. While the high neck collar and gathered sleeves give off Victorian era vibes.

KatandKim_Sezane_PaulinJumper.jpg

PAULIN JUMPER
Sizing: True to size, Kim is wearing a small. Although you could go up a size if you wanted it to be loose.
Material: Mix of mohair, wool, and polyamide. The sweater is quite soft and fuzzy but I would def recommend wearing a tee underneath as the neck can get a little itchy.
Sustainability: Made in an audited factory in China.
Why Kim loves it: It's a white sweater, something I will definitely wear over and over for years!

KatandKim_Sezane_GaspardJumper.jpg

GASPARD JUMPER
Sizing: True to size, Kathleen wears a small. Fit is intentionally oversized.
Material: Mix of mohair, aplaca, and polyamide. This is an itchy sweater, wearing an undershirt is definitely required.
Sustainability: Made in an audited factory in the EU (Italy).
Why Kathleen loves it: This cardigan is an icon! Light enough to wear in the early spring but can be layered to stay warm through fall and winter. The pearl buttons are the prefect finishing touch for a hint of sophistication.
